Are you prepared for the networking event ahead? Do you have all the essential kit ready?

We often come across event attendees that have forgotten the basic ‘networking’ equipment. What is the basic equipment?

1. Business cards – make sure you have more than the expected number of delegates as sometimes a delegate may want several cards to pass to colleagues or Business contacts.
2. Several working pens – to make notes (watch out for our note taking article later this month on why this is such a valuable tool)
3. Example products – if you have any, a great talking tool.
4. Special offer flyers – brochures are all too often discarded, far better is a current special offer that is applicable to the delegates. Remember to include those calls to action!
5. A smile and an open mind – never make assumptions about fellow delegates, listen and you may be surprised. Business networking has many benefits other than just ‘selling’.

So, the moral of the story is be prepared.
